In the 20 years she has worked for home & garden magazines, Lisa Mowry has produced more than 1,000 features for national and local magazines. She is the Atlanta editor for such well-known publications as Better Homes & Gardens, Traditional Home, Decor, Renovation Style, and a dozen other of BH&G’s special interest magazines...titles such as Do-it-Yourself, Country Gardens and Kitchen & Bath Ideas. Lisa has also been a regular contributing editor to Atlanta Magazine for 15 years and has written articles for Southern Living and Woman's Day, as well. Before her freelance career, she was the senior editor at Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles magazine.
Depending on the project, Lisa may take a story from scouting stage through writing the final article, or might either act as stylist or help direct a photographer and stylist. In addition to covering the Atlanta area, she has worked on houses and gardens all over the U.S.—particularly the Southeast. Lisa has recently helped publish great projects in western North Carolina, Chattanooga, the Florida Panhandle and many small towns in Georgia. A graduate of Wake Forest University in North Carolina, Lisa also studied for a masters at Georgia State University’s Communications department. She has lived in Atlanta since 1982. Thirteen years ago she and her family moved out near Marietta to be halfway between the city and Rome (Georgia), where her husband is chairman of the biology department at Berry College. |
